Export of goods from Iran's Kurdistan province increases

The value of goods exported through the customs checkpoint of Iran’s eastern Kurdistan province has increased by 75 percent since the beginning of this Iranian year (started on March 21, 2018) till the end of the 11th month compared to the same period of last Iranian year, Director General of the Customs Office of the Kurdistan province Bakhtiyar Rahmanipur said.

The goods worth $1.65 billion were exported through the customs checkpoint of the province, Rahmanipur added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

He added that 1,008 million tons of products were exported during the abovementioned period.

The weight of exported products increased by 44 percent, Rahmanipur said.

Among the products mainly exported through the province are fruits and vegetables, rubber containers, iron and steel products, fish, he said.

Rahmanipur added that 1,310 tons of products worth $40.7 million were imported within 11 months through the customs checkpoints in Sanandaj, Bashmaq counties.

The imported products dropped by 82 percent in terms of weight and by 38 percent in terms of value during the reporting period of this Iranian year compared to the same period of last Iranian year, he said.

The customs checkpoints are operating in Sanandaj, Bashmaq and Baneh counties of Kurdistan province.
