Nearly 6157.8mln manat was invested in the economy of Azerbaijan in January-September 2010, an increase of 15.2% from the figures of the previous year.
Especially, in August 939.7mln manat was invested in Azerbaijan's economy, which is 47.5% more than investments in the main capital in September 2009.
The forecast of investments for 2010 was established at 11315.8 million manat with growth of 12.5 percent, and actual investments for January-September amounted to 54.4 percent of forecast for the year, and their growth was at 2.7 percent higher than expected.
The main sources of investments for January-September 2010 are:
funds of enterprises and organizations - 3188.0 million manat (increasing by 23.6 percent compared with January-September 2009); budgetary funds - 2087.8 million manat (an increase by 7.1 percent), off-budgetary funds - 334.9 million manat (with a reduction of 3.7 percent), bank loans - 318.9 million manat (increasing by 16.5 percent), funds of the population - 200.0 million manat (with growth of 1.9 percent) ; other funds - 28.2 million manat (with an increase of 76.3 times).
As seen, the increase in investment in January-September 2010 compared to the same period of last year is due to an increase in all investments, except the budget and community funds.
According to the data provided by the State Statistics Committee, private enterprises and organizations invested 2576.1 million manat (41.8 percent of total investments) in Azerbaijan's economy and public enterprises and organizations - 3581.7 million manat (58.2 percent). Major share of governmental investments are directed at implementing transport and infrastructure projects. Despite lingering crisis, work over the ongoing projects continues and new projects are realized.
Investments in the oil sector made up 32.0 percent of capital investments to country's economy (1969.0 million manat), non-oil sector - 68.0 percent (4188.8 million manat).
The gross investments in the industry totaled 2707.0mln manat with an increase of 28.4%. About 281.7mln manat was invested in the processing industry (+34.4 percent). During the reported period, the gross investments in the extractive sector composed 1979.2mln manat, which is 39.4% more than investments in 2009. Generally, 44% of investments fell on the industrial sector.
Investments for repair and construction works made up 66.2%, totaling 4077.5 million manat. Investment for the construction of production facilities totaled 3101.7 million manat, while non-production facilities totaled 3056.1 million manat.
Foreign investments with special weight of 22.7 percent amounted to 1399.8 million manat, increasing by 48.7 percent as compared to the same period of the last year. The special weight of internal investments made up 77.3 percent.

Great Britain continues to keep leading positions on amount of investments to Azerbaijan. Weight of the country in amount of foreign investments hit 52 percent in January-September 2010, state statistical committee said. British investments hit 728.5 million manat.
Roughly 93.5 percent (1308.8 million manat) of investments of foreign countries and the international organizations to the Azerbaijani economy fall on share of investors from Great Britain, the USA, Japan, Norway, Turkey, Korea and France.

The biggest amount of investments was allocated by WB in amount of 59.5 million manat with weight of 4.3 percent. WB projects cover different spheres of the country's economic life.
