Russian authorities will review the issue of imposing a ban to the operations of Turkish companies in the country, RIA Novosti quoted Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev as saying Nov. 26.
Medvedev's comments come in the wake of a recent downing of a Russian Su-24 bomber, involved in anti-IS operations in Syria, by a Turkish fighter jet.
The incident has been followed by a deterioration of relations between Moscow and Ankara.
The prime minister said Russian government was instructed to work out a set of measures in the economic and humanitarian areas with regard to Turkey.
"I'd like to talk about economic measures against Turkey," he noted. "Yesterday, we discussed this issue with the president in Yekaterinburg. The government was as a result tasked to work out a system of measures to respond to the act of aggression in the economic and humanitarian spheres."
Medvedev further said a decision will be taken on the basis of a Russian law that covers the issues of ensuring Russia's security.
"Russia's actions against Turkey may affect the supply of products," the prime minister warned.
He said Russia's restrictive measures against Turkey will be open-ended.
"Military and diplomatic actions, after the incident involving the Russian Su-24, have been taken by Russia, and they will further continue," added Medvedev.
