New gold deposit discovered in Azerbaijan
Anglo Asian Mining PLC (AAM), producer of gold in Azerbaijan, discovered a new gold deposit, AAM said in a message. “The discovery will greatly increase the gold reserves and further production on the Gadabay field,” Reza Vaziri, AAM director general, was cited as saying.
Azerbaijan, Indonesia keen to deepen economic co-op
A group of representatives of the Azerbaijani ‘Silk Road’ Public Union for Promotion of Development of Entrepreneurship, Indonesia’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Husnan Bey Fananie and a number of the embassy employees are on a visit to Indonesia.
The delegation visited Jakarta to attend the Trade Expo Indonesia 2016.
Azerbaijani entrepreneurs are also holding meetings in various cities of Indonesia in order to develop business cooperation between the two sides. The parties have already discussed the opportunities to cancel visa regime for Indonesian tourists, as well as launching direct Baku-Jakarta flights.
Azerbaijan intensifying activity within European Energy Charter
Azerbaijan will take appropriate measures for the development of relations within the European Energy Charter, said Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Natig Aliyev, according to the country’s Energy Ministry. Aliyev held a meeting with Secretary General of the European Energy Charter Urban Rusnak, who arrived in Baku to attend the 7th International Forum “Energy for Sustainable Development.” The sides discussed the issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Energy Charter.
Iran, Azerbaijan to launch online marketplace
Iran and Azerbaijan are expected to launch a joint website to sell the products of both countries online, Iranian ICT minister has said. Iran’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ramin Guluzade in Tehran to discuss expansion of cooperation between the two neighboring countries, Fars news agency reported. Issues regarding postal systems, electronic commerce and satellites were discussed during today’s talks, Vaezi said.

Ilham Aliyev attends opening of ‘Das Salahlı’ sub-station
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of 110/35/6 KV “Das Salahlı” sub-station in Qazakh district. “Das Salahlı” is the fourth 110KV facility built in the western region of Azerbaijan and the 44th in the country.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of “Birinci Sıxlı Farm” LLC in Qazakh district. The farm occupies an area of 151 hectares. It includes a 2,000-ton capacity warehouse, 250 square meter park for agricultural machinery and a 600 square meter production area. The farm will employ 170 people.

62 projects get investment promotion document in Azerbaijan
As many as 62 projects by Azerbaijan’s entrepreneurs have received an investment promotion document worth 787 million manats since April 2016, the country’s Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev said in Baku at the conference “Non-oil exports: today's challenges and opportunities.” The minister said that currently nine projects worth 55 million manats are also being considered. The implementation of these projects will make it possible to open over 5,000 new jobs, Mustafayev said.
Aviation authorities of Azerbaijan, Iraq hold talks
Negotiations were held between the Civil Aviation Administrations of Azerbaijan and Iraq in Baku. During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the area of air transportation and prospects of implementing regular passenger and cargo flights between Azerbaijan and Iraq. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the two countries’ air carriers.
Ilham Aliyev lays foundation of granary of Aghstafa plant
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended a groundbreaking ceremony of a granary of a grain processing and flour products plant of Aghstafa Agroservis LLC.
Construction of the plant started in March 2015 and is expected to be completed in May 2017. The complex will include three plants. The project will embrace the construction of a bread plant, grain and flour warehouses.

The factory features 7 production areas. The project will create 250 permanent jobs.
Netherlands can help Azerbaijan develop agricultural sector
Azerbaijan may use the experience of the Netherlands in the spheres of production, processing and packaging of agricultural products, as well as for the development of poultry farming and vegetable growing, Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev said at a meeting with Ambassador of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan Onno Kervers. Mustafayev said that Azerbaijan and the Netherlands have ample opportunities for cooperation in the fields of agriculture, industry, transport, environment, education and others.

Russia, Azerbaijan increase car routes for passenger transportation
Russia and Azerbaijan are planning to create six news car routes for regular passenger transportations, head of the State Motor Transport of Azerbaijan’s Transport Ministry, Elnur Abdullayev, said at a meeting of the Azerbaijan-Russia joint commission on international road transportation.
Deputy Director General of Rosavtotrans Agency of Automobile Transport Ruslan Luzhetsky in turn appealed to Azerbaijan with a request to extend the term of validity of a permit given to Russian carriers, which is now issued for 1 year.
Azerbaijani business draws almost half of financing for 2016
Since early 2016, the National Fund for Entrepreneurship Support under Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry allocated preferential loans worth 123 million manats for entrepreneurs, said Arif Valimammadov, deputy executive director of the fund, during a forum in the country’s Samukh district. During the forum, 53 entrepreneurs were given preferential loans worth 646,000 manats through the authorized credit organizations. These loans will be used for the development of livestock farming, beekeeping, vegetable growing, gardening, viticulture and other spheres. The loans will allow opening about 60 new jobs.
UAE investments in Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector exceed $650M
The volume of direct investments by the UAE in the non-oil sector of Azerbaijan's economy is approximately $659 million, Head of Interstate Economic Cooperation Department of the country’s Economy Ministry Orkhan Mammadov said at Azerbaijan-UAE business forum.
“Currently, 223 companies from the UAE operate in Azerbaijan, and the trade between our countries amounted to $58 million as of the end of the third quarter of 2016, which is 24 percent more than in the same period of 2015,” Mammadov said.

President Aliyev meets Venezuelan president
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro held a meeting in Baku. During the meeting, the two parties exchanged views on studying the cooperation in such spheres as, trade, energy and investment making.
