а) Oil and Gas Production
In January 2018, 3.36 million tons of oil and gas condensate were produced in Azerbaijan, which is 0.2 percent less than in January 2017, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said in a report.
In 2017, 38.78 million tons of oil and gas condensate were produced in Azerbaijan which is 5.5 percent less than in 2016.
The main oil output in Azerbaijan accounts for the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of oil and gas fields.
Output of commercial gas in Azerbaijan stood at 1.58 billion cubic meters in January 2018, which is 5.9 percent more than in January 2017.
Commercial gas output in Azerbaijan stood at 18.16 billion cubic meters in 2017, as compared to 18.71 billion cubic meters in 2016.
b) Processing
Azerbaijan produced 395,900 tons of oil products in January 2018 compared to 441,800 tons in January 2017, Azerbaijan's State Statistics Committee said in a report.
SOCAR, which is the sole producer of oil products in Azerbaijan, is currently modernizing its processing facilities as the fuel consumption has increased in the country.
Azerbaijan produced 109,100 tons of gasoline in January 2018, which is 0.5 percent more than in January 2017.
Azerbaijan produced 4.65 million tons of oil products in 2017 compared to 5.17 million tons in 2016.

2. Chemical complex
In January 2018, 5,700 tons of propylene were produced in Azerbaijan that is 10.9 percent more than in January 2017, says a report of the country's State Statistics Committee.
Meanwhile, 10,400 tons of polyethylene were produced in Azerbaijan in January 2018 that is 0.6 percent more than in January 2017.
In January 2018, 10,700 tons of ethylene (increase of 10.9 percent as compared to January 2017) were produced in Azerbaijan.

3. Electricity
Azerbaijan's power plants generated 2.18 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in January 2018 that is by 0.6 percent less than in the same period of 2017, says a report of the State Statistics Committee.
The report says that 2.09 billion kilowatt hours of the total electricity generated in January 2018 accounted for commercial electricity, which is 0.4 percent less than in January 2017.
Thermal power plants generated 1.98 billion kilowatt hours of total commercial electricity in January 2018 that is 1.8 percent less than in January 2017.
Azerbaijan's hydro-power plants generated 108.3 million kilowatt hours of commercial electricity in January 2018 that is 6.6 percent less than in January 2017.
Wind farms produced 1.5 million kilowatt hours of electricity, while solar power plants generated 1.9 million kilowatt hours of electricity in the reporting period.
