With the order of Armenia's newly appointed Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan, deputy commander Sisak Avetisyan of the General Department Against Organized Crime was relieved of his duties. Avetisyan, who is known as "Surik" within the country's law enforcement agencies, had occupied this post for a mere 25 days, Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun daily writes.

According to the daily, he had presented a good enough "sweetener" to the higher echelons, to get this job, and once appointed, he immediately began to "get comfy." At first, he began remodeling his office, built his own bathroom, and bought expensive furniture, News.am reported.

"According to our information, he spent close to US$ 8,000 solely for the aesthetic remodeling of that office; a room where he was lucky enough to spend a mere 25 days. Incidentally, Surik is among those police who have their own properties. Specifically, he has a share in Atlantic Café, at [capital Yerevan's] Liberty Square," Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun writes, noting this café used to belong to former National Security Service Chief Karlos Petrosyan, who sold his share sometime after his dismissal.
