The George Bush administration is well aware of continuing deployment of Russian troops in Akhalgori and Kodori Valley and requires immediate demilitarization of these areas. Deputy spokesman of the U.S. Department of State Robert Wood said that on Thursday in Washington, official website of State Department reported.
"I know that Russian forces do remain
in Akhalgori in South Ossetia and in the Kodori Valley in Abkhazia and we want
to see these areas demilitarized immediately," RIA Novosti quoted Wood.
He said that he had no information to confirm Georgia's statements about expansion
of Russian troops in the territory of Georgia to 2,000.
