Missing Georgian serviceman found dead in Afghanistan

Georgian serviceman Georgy Kikadze, who has been reported missing since December 19, was found dead in Afghanistan on Saturday. Georgian Minister of Defence Irakliy Alasania told journalists that today is the hard day for him.
"We have informed the family of the deceased, and I personally apologized to the mother of the deceased for being too optimistic commented that Kikadze alive, I condole the family and friends," the minister said, noting that the circumstances of the death of the serviceman will be announced after the investigation.
The Minister stressed that Georgia has a lot of responsibility, taking part in the NATO operation in Afghanistan.
The search operation has been conducted by NATO armed forces with participation of the Georgian side.
To participate to the search for the Georgian military in Afghanistan was sent to the First Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces Vakhtang Kapanadze.
1700 Georgian troops were serving in Afghanistan. During this time, Georgia lost 21 people dead.
