( dpa ) - Two people were reported to have died when a small plane and a helicopter collided in mid-air near the New Zealand capital, Wellington, on Sunday, news reports said.
The collision happened near a small airfield at Paraparaumu, 50 kilometres north of the capital, which is mainly used by light aircraft and gliders.
The two killed were in the helicopter. The pilot of the twin- engine plane, which narrowly missed a house when it crashed into a residential street, was pulled from the wreckage seriously injured, Radio New Zealand reported.
