Greece international Nikos Liberopoulos has signed a two-year deal with Eintracht Frankfurt, the German Bundesliga club confirmed Sunday, dpa reported.

The 32-year-old striker moves on a free transfer from AEK Athens and joins compatriot and club captain Ioannis Amanatidis at Frankfurt on a contract until the end of the 2010 season.

Liberopoulos has played 76 European club matches as well as making 350 league appearances, scoring 148 goals in the process.

"Because of his huge experience and age, we are convinced that he can do a job for us," said Frankfurt coach Friedhelm Funkel of his new 1.86-metre tall signing.

Liberpoulos comes in as cover for new signing Uemit Korkmaz after it was revealed Friday that the Austrian will be out for around eight weeks after breaking a bone in his foot in training.
