Manchester United beat Fulham 3-0 on Wednesday to extend their lead over Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table to five points, dpa reported.
Paul Scholes put them ahead after 12 minutes, Dimitar Berbatov added a second before half-time, and Wayne Rooney marked his comeback from injury with the third.
Fulham remain tenth in the table, seven points clear of the relegation zone, but they will be concerned by a run that has seen them win just one of their last seven Premier League games.
Certainly the doggedness that marked some of their away performances earlier in the season was lacking, and they capitulated without every threatening to frustrate United.
Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer will take the blame for United's first, allowing the ball to squirm under his body, but that should not detract from the quality of Paul Scholes's strike, as he met Michael Carrick's half-cleared corner with a sweet volley.
Schwarzer had a night to forget, flapping repeatedly at crosses, and he bore culpability for United's second as well.
He and Aaron Hughes failed to deal with a John O'Shea cross, allowing Berbatov a simple finish.
Rooney, back after a month's absence, replaced Berbatov after 61 minutes, and made his mark two minutes later.
Park Ji-Sung drove the ball across goal, and Rooney turned it in from close range.
The sides could meet again in the sixth round of the FA Cup, if Fulham can beat Swansea City at home in next week's fifth-round replay.
