NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen paid an unannounced visit to Afghanistan on Thursday, the NATO-led forces said in a press release, Xinhua reported.
"The NATO Secretary General, Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen, is currently visiting Afghanistan," the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said in the release, adding " During his visit, the Secretary General will meet President Hamid Karzai and other members of the Afghan Government."
The NATO chief will also meet the Commander of the ISAF, General John R. Allen and the NATO Senior Civilian Representative, Ambassador Simon Gass, it said.
Rasmussen will hold a press conference with Afghan President Hamid Karzai later Thursday.
