Cargo, passenger traffic via Turkish Adana Airport lowers in 10M2020

As many as 22,613 tons of cargo were transported via Turkey’s Adana Airport from January through October 2020, down by 43 percent compared to the same period of 2019, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period, the country’s domestic flights transported 18,135 tons of cargo, showing a 37-percent drop over the year.

At the same time, 4,478 tons of cargo were transported through the Adana Airport by international flights, having plunged by 60 percent year-on-year, the ministry said.

The airport served over 2.1 million passengers during the past ten months of this year, which is 49 percent less than in the same period of last year.

More than 1.9 million passengers were served on domestic flights over this period, while a year earlier this indicator was 46 percent more.

From January through October 2020, 207,866 passengers were served on international flights, which is 68 percent less compared to the same months of last year.

Meanwhile, 23,180 flights were carried out through Adana Airport, which is 32 percent less than in the same period in 2019.

During this period, 21,101 flights were carried out on domestic flights, which is 26 percent less than in the same period in 2019.

International flights via Ankara Adana Airport slumped by 63 percent over the year, amounting to 2,079 flights.

From January through October 2020, air traffic in Turkey decreased by 45.9 percent and amounted to 722,084 flights. Meanwhile, over 70.5 million passengers were served at all Turkish airports.

In the reporting period, more than 1.9 million tons of cargo were transported through all airports in the country.
