The book "Azerbaijani Development Model", published by the official state newspaper "Azerbaijan" was presented in Baku today.
The book "Azerbaijani Development Model" will make the countries, interested in Azerbaijan think, Ziyad Samadzade, chairman of the economic policy committee under the Azerbaijani parliament, said at the presentation.
"After gaining independence, Azerbaijan has faced with difficulties while transiting from one economic system to another. Few countries were able to maintain economic independence during the transition period. Azerbaijan is one of the few countries that ensured the economic freedom," Samadzade said.
Developing the scientific and theoretical foundations of a model of Azerbaijan's economy development and carrying out extensive research work in this area are required by time. Ramiz Mehdiyev, the head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, member of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences, is the author of the idea and preface for the book "Azerbaijani Development Model".
The book must be characterized as one of the steps taken in this direction.
The editor of the book is the doctor of historical sciences, professor Ali Hasanov. MP Bakhtiyar Sadigov, editor-in-chief of "Azerbaijan" newspaper, distinguished lournalist is responsible for the issue.
The book, dedicated to the memory of Heydar Aliyev, prepared in an elegant design in printing center "Oscar", consists of a preface and three sections.
The social and economic policy, prepared and implemented on a scientific basis in Azerbaijan for the last 17 years, the conducted reforms, are indicated as the issues that characterize the national development model.
Special attention is paid to the socio-economic events that ensured a transitional period in the economic sphere in 1994-2009, orders and decrees issued by the great leader Heydar Aliyev and his worthy successor - Ilham Aliyev, the approved state programs and other legislative acts, the chronology of the reached success. The process of transformation and reform in line with market economy of former socio-economic relations and institutions in Azerbaijan, completing the economic transition, the formation of new relations and institutions is being analyzed.
Samadzade said that publishing the book testifies about the sustainable development of Azerbaijan. Its translation into various languages will help the world countries to more closely familiarize with the Azerbaijani model of development.
MP Ali Akhmedov, deputy chairman of New Azerbaijan ruling party, executive secretary, noted that the initiative of academician Ramiz Mehdiyev and a creative team of research and economic development of Azerbaijan and its presenting to the public is a significant gift to Azerbaijani people.
During his speech Akhmedov stressed the basic principles included in the development of the Azerbaijani economy.
"Stability is preserved in the country on the basis of Azerbaijan's economic development model. Stability, ensured by Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan, serves as a platform for development. Other factors included in the development - oil strategy and economic reforms, founded by Heydar Aliyev, are successfullydeveloping today. The principles of economic integration, transit, modernization and social market are among these factors", Akhmedov said.
Shamsaddin Hajiyev, Chairman of the Committee on Science and Education under the Azerbaijani Parliament, said that the notion of a model is not abstract.
"Every country has its own peculiarities of development, both in terms of resources and policy. A model of development is available in the countries differing by the level of development and peculiarity of the current policy," Hajiyev said.
MP said that the stages of Azerbaijan's development, the current policy and its results, are fully presented in the preface.
"It is significant to present the book on the eve of National Leader Memorial Day, as the development of Azerbaijan is associated with the name of Heydar Aliyev", MP said.
He said that there are no analogues of economic development of Azerbaijan in the world.
"Azerbaijan has rapidly passed a way that other countries can not pass over a long period. Macroeconomic indicators of Azerbaijan is 4-5 times more than that in neighboring countries - Armenia and Georgia," the parliamentarian said.
He said that the oil strategy, associated with the name of Heydar Aliyev, will serve to Azerbaijani people for a long time.
"Today, Azerbaijan formed a sustainable development. Azerbaijan was able to provide not only itself, but it became an alternative energy source for European and other markets. Oil strategies of the country benefit not only Azerbaijan. It is an additional factor for the economies of neighboring and other world countriesm" Hajiyev said.
Ali Hasanov, the head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Social and Political Department, thanked the initiators of the book Ramiz Mehdiyev and the entire creative team.
Hasanov said that the main purpose of writing the book is to create a ground for public discussions of the Azerbaijani model of development.
"The main objective is to analyze the distinctive features of the model, created by Heydar Aliyev, and continued by Ilham Aliyev, to discuss the sustainability of development, to analyze the shortcomings of the model, to provide recommendations to the relevant state organizations," Hasanov said.
