A seminar on combating and preventing trafficking in human beings will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Dec. 15-16, the Council of Europe press service reported.

The seminar is organized for the benefit of officials of the leading state institutions responsible for the implementation of the above mentioned Convention. This workshop should furthermore present good practices and innovative approaches for the implementation of the Convention and provide a platform for discussion among Azerbaijani stakeholders.

Representatives from the Presidential Administration, the Parliament, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Border Service, the Border Guards and Police, the State Migration Office, judges and prosecutors as well as NGOs and media representatives are invited to take part in this event. Experts from 6 member states will share their experience with the Azerbaijani counterparts.

The seminar is organized by the Council of Europe, in co-operation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan
