Turkey's Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will take part in the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, TRT Haber news channel reported Jan. 5.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) will be held from Jan. 22 through Jan. 24, 2015.
Turkey hasn't taken part in the WEF in Davos since 2009.
In 2009, Turkey's former prime minister and current president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, left the WEF after an incident with the Israeli president, Shimon Peres.
At that time, Erdogan openly accused Israel of state terrorism. In response, Peres said Israel has a right to defend itself, and added "Palestinians are not firing at Turkey".
In a statement in the wake of the incident, Erdogan said the Israeli president's statements were "offensive, and didn't reflect the truth and were generally unacceptable for a president".
"I must openly declare that we can't accept such statements," he said.
Erdogan also expressed serious dissatisfaction with the principle of conducting debates in Davos.
"The head of the Arab League Amr Moussa, the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, and I completed our speeches in 15 minutes," Erdogan said, adding that the presenter was already giving a sign on the 12th-13th minutes that it was necessary to hurry up and finish the speech.
"However, Perez spoke 23 minutes without any warning," Erdogan added.
