The Sumgait Technologies Park (STP) plans to increase the number of companies to 14 by late 2012, AZENCO deputy chairman of board Zaur Mammadov told press on Tuesday.
"At present, ten enterprises operate in this park," he said. "We plan to create eight more enterprises, four of which - by late 2011."
He said that a cable plant, plastic pipe production plant, high-voltage equipment production plant, solar collector production plant, an engineering plant, a galvanizing plant, ventilation pipe production plant, precision mechanics plant operate in the park.
"We have recently put the industrial gas production plant into operation," he said. "The trucks were assembled in the park for the first time. The largest indoor industrial complex - heavy metal plant is under construction in Azerbaijan."
He said that the largest transformer plant and a sandwich panel production plant are planned to be opened in this park.
A foundry producing turbines and large steam turbines will be also opened there.
Mammadov failed to name the amount of investments in the park. However, it is the largest project in Azerbaijan's non-oil sector.
"It is difficult to call the production volume in the industrial park," he said. "But the cable plant produces 30,000 tons per year, plastic pipe production plant - up to 150,000 tons."
Sumgait Technologies Park (STP) is a big production enterprise realizing new infrastructure projects in the electro energetic industry of Azerbaijan. It is meant to produce products of electro energetic and engineering industry based on modern technologies. In this Technologies Park consisting of 18 factories will be produced products of government importance and different type - various types of cables, transformers, high tension equipments, hydraulic turbines, water pumps, electrical engines, pipes and technical gasses.
AZENCO's activity is to construct power facilities, buildings and to conduct overhaul and cosmetic repair. Azenco is one of the largest construction companies in Azerbaijan.
