The third phase of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) with NATO fully reflects Azerbaijan's interests, the country's permanent representative to NATO Khazar Ibrahim told media in Baku.
"At present, there are no problems with its realisation," he said.
Ibrahim said that the third phase of the cooperation programme between Azerbaijan and NATO, as in previous phases will cover such areas as defence, civil defence, security and other areas.
"NATO has repeatedly expressed satisfaction with cooperation with Azerbaijan," he said. "Baku is also interested in developing cooperation with NATO."
The cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO was laid on May 4, 1994, after the signing of the framework document, Partnership for Peace.
In April 1996, an official document was signed within the Partnership for Peace Programme identifying specific areas of cooperation between countries of the alliance. Currently, in accordance with this programme, Azerbaijan implements about 50 partner tasks.
On Aug. 3, 2005, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the approval of the Individual Partnership Action Plan between Azerbaijan and NATO.
Now the cooperation is extended to the second phase of the plan.
