Paris. France. August 5. At the Paris 2024 Olympics, wrestling competitions will start today, Trend reports.
On the first day of the competition, two Azerbaijani athletes will compete: Murad Mammadov (60 kg) and Sabah Shariati (130 kg). They will begin their fights from the Round of 16. Murad Mammadov will face Ecuadorian Raiber Jose Rodriguez Ornoque, while Sabah Shariati will compete against Estonian Heiki Nabi.
The matches will start at 17:00 Baku time.
Currently, Azerbaijan has three medals: judokas Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) and Zelim Kotsoyev (100 kg) have become Olympic champions, and boxer Alfonso Dominguez has secured at least a silver medal by reaching the final.
