Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / MP Ali Ahmadov, the Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, has stated that the Party positively received the statement of the opposition to suspend the political activities of all opposition parties and to demonstrate unity by backing the Authority in case of a state of military emergency that could emerge due to the Armenian-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno- Karabakh.
During the Karabakh forum, held with the participation of the opposition parties and social representatives, the political leaders stated that Azerbaijan must carry out orders of the Constitution, and use the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.
All parties must suspend their political activities during a state of emergency, which means that no one can use a potential state of emergency that may result from the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict to their own political advantage, and that there must not arise during this time a struggle for authority.
Ahmadov noted that he agreed with the opposition's unity with the Authority due to regulation of the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict.
"All parties have a general position regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict. The opposition parties have demonstrated their position during all meetings. Independent of political membership, all parties will strive to restore the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan," MP said.
