The demining operations at the Baku TV tower are nering completion, Azerbaijani National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) employee Parviz Gidayev told Trend today.
The territory is currently being reexamined.
"The demining activities are being carried out in accordance with the approved standards," he said. "All of the work will be completed by Friday evening."
After finishing the demining activities, the work carried out in the area will be monitored and a relevant certificate will be issued based on the results, ANAMA told Trend today.
Unexploded ordinances were revealed near the TV tower in Baku on Nov.10. At present, an operative group consisting of employees of ANAMA and the Emergency Situations Ministry are working on the scene to clean the area. The area around the tower has so far been cleared of 2,300 unexploded ordinances. They mainly include 125mm-armor-piercing tank shells.
