Complaints Received about Activity of Executive Powers: Chairwoman of Azerbaijan Parliament’s Commission

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend I.Alizade / The Chairwoman of Azerbaijan Parliament's Permanent Commission, MP Rabiyat Aslanova, said on 17 September in Baku that nearly 70% of the complaints received by the Permanent Parliamentary Commission on Human Rights during the spring session is linked with the activities of the Executive Powers, including Baku Executive Power construction sphere, and illegal construction.

"The complaints made have been about illegal construction work," Aslanova said. According to her, their numbers have significantly decreased. Therefore, during the spring session of the Parliament, the Commission received 1,723 statements and complaints.

"Last year, mainly in May and June, the number complaints about the activities of the Supreme and Appeal Courts were significantly large. The citizens mainly complained about the activity of the judges of the Appeal Court. However, in August the number of complaints received about activities of the judges, including judges of the Appeal Court, decreased," the MP said.

There have been complaints about payment of the social allowances and targeted social aid.
