Azerbaijan, Baku, 27 February / corr. Trend I. Alizadeh/ The last preparations on the establishment of Parliament Assembly (PA) of the Turkic speaking countries, coordinating the text of the agreement and other documents will be discussed in late March in Ankara.
"The meeting of the national secretaries on the establishment of the Parliament Assembly of the Turkic speaking countries will be held in Ankara," Sayad Alasgarov, the head of the secretariat of Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani parliament) and the national secretary on establishment of the Parliament Assembly said to Trend on 27 February.
According to Alasgarov, the works on the establishment of the Parliament Assembly are being completed. The first meeting of the Inter-Parliament Council of Turkic speaking countries held on 21-22 February in Antalya decided to establish PA and signed a protocol on intentions. The representatives of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan took part in the meeting.
The Council aims at building up a joint mechanism by uniting parliaments of the Turkic speaking countries and at strengthening bilateral relations, exchanging experience and carrying out joint projects.
According to the protocol on intentions signed in Antalya, the meeting of the PA of Turkic speaking countries will be held at least once a year. The Secretariat of the Assembly will be temporarily located in Turkey.
The countries will preside over the PA by turns in alphabetical order for a year. The MPs from the member countries will take part in the meetings on equal basis.
According to Alasgrov, the meeting of the chairmen of the parliaments in Turkic speaking countries is expected to be held in late May on Ankara. The agreement on establishment of PA of the Turkic speaking countries is scheduled to be signed during the meeting.
