Anti Drug Struggle to be More Effective in Afghanistan if Russia’s proposals to be Considered: Russian Foreign Minister

Azerbaijan, Baku, 10 Dec / Trend , corr. A.Gasimova /The Russian Federation tries to make ts contribution into the anti terror and anti drug actions in Afghanistan. The anti terror struggle could achieve more efficient result if the NATO partners to consider Russia's proposal on implementation of an agreement on the joint security, Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister said at the briefing in Moscow, the Vesti channel reported.

"NATO still stays aside on the proposal on the position of two or three countries, and such a negative attitude toward our proposal is explained by ideological reasons," the minister said.

According to Lavrov, NATO impedes the project, which could be effective in the anti-drug activity in Afghanistan. "We expect, that the Barack Obama administration will confirm that the fact that he speaks now, i.e., interaction with Russia on neutralization of global threats, in essence to combat terrorism and propagation of weapon of mass destruction. We will be ready to close work on all these directions", Lavrov said.
