Georgia, Tbilisi, Jan. 23/ Trend N. Kirtzkhalia/ Georgia's Vice Premier Giorgi Baramidze left for Lebanon with working visit where he will hold bilateral talks with high-ranking officials of executive and legislative powers of the country.
Baramidze met with Lebanon's Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Beri, Ex President of this country Amin Gemayel, Vice Premier's office told Trend. Within the framework of the visit the meeting will be held with Foreign Minister, Minister of Economy and Trade, Minister of Information, Minister for Administrative Reforms, as well as president of the Council for Development and Reconstruction, members of the Parliament, the Head of Delegation of the European Commission to Lebanon Patrick Laurent.
The visit organized under the EU assistance has four main goals: strengthening of dialogue with Lebanon and other countries of the region in order to avoid their admittance of separatist regions of Georgia - Abkhazia and South Ossetia; strengthening of bilateral ties between Tbilisi and Beirut proceeding from economic potential of Lebanon; encouragement of local businessmen to attract investments to Georgia; familiarization with Lebanon's experience in its cooperation with the EU.
