Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 19 /corr. Trend Т.Jafarov / The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Iran will be increased to $1.5 billion, Foreign Minister of Iran Manouchehr Mottaki told in an exclusive interview to Trend on Feb. 19 in Baku.
"Currently the amount of trade turnover between Iran and Azerbaijan totals $700 million. The interests both peoples and states are reflected in the economic relations of the two countries," the Foreign Minister said.
The Iranian Foreign Minister attends the meeting of joint commission for economic co-operation between Azerbaijan and Iran in Baku.
According to Mottaki, the economic relations of the two countries in the spheres of trade, power engineering, industry, transit and others supplement with each other. "The economic projects realized by Azerbaijan rapidly and seriously develop. The development, power and security of Azerbaijan are considered pride for Iran. We see large potential for the development of economic relations of Iran with Azerbaijan in the future," he said.
According to him, the relations of Iran and Azerbaijan are close, serious and being developed. "The political will of the heads of state of the two countries stand behind these relations. The Iranian entrepreneurs are met in Azerbaijan at high level. We thank the high-ranking officials for this attitude. We assess the activity of the Iranian entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan as a contribution to the development of Azerbaijan," said Mottaki.
The Foreign Minister said that the relation of Iran and Azerbaijan in all spheres developed thoroughly.
