Azerbaijan, Jordan to mull bilateral cooperation: ambassador

Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafaev and Jordan Industrial and Trade Minister Amer Hadid will discuss economic cooperation between the two countries in Amman.

The Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Technical Cooperation will meet in Amman on Feb. 25-26, Azerbaijani Ambassador Elman Arasli told Trend in a telephone conversation from Jordan on Feb. 23.

The officials will discuss cooperation in the trade, economics, industrial, energy, telecommunications, IT, agricultural, transport, cultural, tourism and health sectors. Following the meeting, the co-chairs will sign a protocol. The document will reflect the aims of the commission and new prospects for bilateral cooperation, Arasli said.

The delegation will include government officials and business leaders.

During the visit, Mustafaev will meet with Jordanian governmental representatives.

Azerbaijan and Jordan signed 27 agreements within the past two years, Arasli said.

Imports to Azerbaijan from Jordan hit $461,900 in 2008.
