Drug dealer detained in Samukh region of Azerbaijan

A drug dealer was detained in Samukh.

A resident of Dashkesan region dealing with sale of drug was detained as a result of operative actions conducted by police of Samukh region on March 19, Bahadur Shukurov, deputy chief of Samukh police department said.

Resident of Dashkesan region Mobil Askerov Iskender, 32, renting a flat in Ganja was detained while selling 2 kilograms 600 gram of marijuana for $3,000 in Sarkar village of Samukh region, he said.

During his evidence, Askerov said that he collected drug for his own use.

Earlier Askerov was convicted on hooliganism (article 221 of Criminal Code of Azerbaijan). If Askerov is proved guilty, he will be imprisoned from 5 to 12 years. Criminal case on illegal production, acqui, storage, transportation, sending or sale of drug in big amounts (article 234.4.3 of Criminal Code of Azerbaijan) was filed against him.
