Syria, Damascus, May 23 / Trend , U. Sadigova/ Azerbaijani government continues to resist Armenian occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh and all UN Security Council resolutions must be implemented to put an end to occupation, Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said in Damascus.
The 36th meeting of the OIC foreign ministers opened in Damascus on May 23. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, Syrian President Bashar Asad and other senior official are participating.
OIC Secretary General Ihsanoglu opened the meeting. He noted major problems that Islamic world faces including Palestine-Israel conflict.
He said general program on Islamic development, financing and improving education must be implemented. Such programs are already implemented thanks to some Islamic states.
Ihsanoglu said Islamic countries must help population in the Gaza Strip and also render material assistance to put an end to Jerusalem's occupation.
"Azerbaijan is closely cooperating with world community to put an end to occupation," Ihsanoglu said.
