The diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan in Pakistan has not received information concerning arrest of Azerbaijanis suspected of links with Al-Qaeda from local law enforcement agencies, adviser of the Azerbaijani embassy in Islamabad, Sabir Rzayev, said on August 15.

About 30 people, including 11 Azerbaijanis were arrested during checks on the bus traveling from Beluchistan to Pishavar, Turkish NTV television channel reported.  According to the report, among them were Turkish citizens - seven men, five women and four children.

The channel said they are suspected of having links with Al-Qaeda.

Recently, three Azerbaijanis were arrested by local law enforcement agencies for illegally crossing the border, but they were not charged with anything except for crossing the border illegally and they were returned to Azerbaijan with support of special services of Pakistan and the embassy, Rzayev said.
