The Presidents of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev and Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, believes that the relations between the two countries are an example of good-neighborly and friendly relations, RIA Novosti reported.

The Presidents of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev and Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, believes that the relations between the two countries are an example of good-neighborly and friendly relations, RIA Novosti reported.

In the beginning of a bilateral meeting, Medvedev stressed that the bridge, which was opened in Ulyanovsk, the Monument to Heydar Aliyev and the square, which was named after Azerbaijani politician, are a symbol of friendship, an indicator of how to build relations in post-Soviet space.

"We can safely and productively discuss our economic, political problems, discuss complex regional problems," added the President of Russia.

In response, Aliyev replied that "if everyone in the world would have relations such as between Russia and Azerbaijan, the world would not have problems."

He also noted that the bridge and the monument indicate how to preserve the memory of Heydar Aliyev, is an indicator of the level of development of bilateral relations.
