Caucasus Journalist Network project ends

The European Commission-funded Caucasus Journalists Network project is coming to an end. The project was implemented over three years under the auspices of the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR)

The European Commission-funded Caucasus Journalists Network project is coming to an end. The project was implemented over three years under the auspices of the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR). The closing ceremony will be held at the Tbilisi Radisson Hotel today. 

Journalists will talk about media freedom problems in their countries at the conference.

Over 100 journalists from the Caucasus region participated in the project and more than 50 training and journalistic missions were held under its auspices, IWPR Georgia Director Shorena Ratiani said. 

At the end the project, meetings were held with state and opposition representatives, as well as European Commission delegation and experts.

Journalists visited the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict zone and Dvani, Tkviavi and Tirdznisi villages on the administrative border Nov. 25.
