Trans-Asian Parliamentary Forum's preliminary program 'Eurasian Dimension' announced

The program of Trans-Asian Forum envisages conducting three main sessions, the Senate Speaker Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said, speaking at a meeting of the Organizing Committee on preparation and holding of this forum.

The program of Trans-Asian Forum envisages conducting three main sessions, the Senate Speaker Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said, speaking at a meeting of the Organizing Committee on preparation and holding of this forum.

"This forum aims to further expand inter-parliamentary dialogue and cooperation, intensify and enhance the role of parliamentarians while solving the main objectives of the OSCE", Tokayev said.

According to him, the program of Trans-Asian Forum envisages conducting three main sessions:

- Regional security (Afghanistan, combat terrorism and drug trafficking, disarmament);

Eurasia: new markets and growing challenges (economic development, trade, resource management, labor migration issues in the field of environmental protection);

- OSCE Human Dimension (religious tolerance, political development, the fight against human trafficking, gender equality").

It is expected that about 350 delegates-members of national parliaments of the world community and representatives of international organizations will participate in the Trans-Asian Parliamentary Forum.

The Trans-Asian Parliamentary Forum "Eurasian OSCE dimension" will be held in Almaty May 14 - 16 within Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the OSCE and under the auspices of this organization.
