Azerbaijan to introduce new articles to Administrative Violations Code

The Azerbaijani Parliament is expected to introduce two new articles to the Azerbaijani Administrative Violations Code, Parliamentary Deputy Speaker Valeh Alasgarov said.

The Azerbaijani Parliament is expected to introduce two new articles to the Azerbaijani Administrative Violations Code, Parliamentary Deputy Speaker Valeh Alasgarov said.

Under the new articles, the consumers will be fined for impeding to present warnings on violations of regulatory requirements for water, gas and electric power. The physicals will be fined for 20 manat, officials- 50 manat and legal entities 100 manat, Parliamentary Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology Committee Chairman Alasgarov said at the committee's meeting.

The committee meeting also discussed the bill "On the resolution on the acceptance, approval and implementation of the agreement signed between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), SOCAR's joint oil company and Bahar Energy Limited on the allocation of shares in the exploration, rehabilitation, development and production of the Bahar and Gum Deniz fields located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea." The agreement was signed Dec.22, 2009 in accordance with the presidential order.

The MPs noted that the document has been prepared taking into account Azerbaijan's interests and the risks in the fields. It was recommended to consider the both bill at the parliamentary plenary session.
