The secretary-general of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Mark Perrin de Brishambaut arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit, the official Turkmen source said.
Within the visit he participates in the international conference "Strengthening regional co-operation in Central Asia for promoting stable and reliable energy within Eurasia", opened today in Ashgabat.
The forum's organizers are Ashgabat OSCE Centre and the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan
The forum will continue till May 4.
Brishambaut was elected OSCE secretary-general in summer of 2005. In 2008 it was decided to prolong his power term.
OSCE is the world's largest regional organization engaged in security. This is the only institution that created and developed mechanisms to prevent conflicts of various types and methods of their management at the European space.
