The Georgian National Energy Regulatory Commission has launched a new partnership program with the Kentucky Public Services Commission in the United States.
A working meeting between the parties will be held May 17-22 in the United States, the commission reported. Optimal conditions for sharing experiences, implementing contemporary management practices and strengthening regulatory institutions were created in Georgia with the support of the partnership program. Cooperation with the commission envisages the exchange of information and introduction of modern management techniques.
The commission and U.S regulatory bodies began cooperation in 1999.
"Partnership with regulatory bodies in Michigan and Vermont played an important role in improving the level of professionalism of the Georgian commission. We hope the program with Kentucky will also be successful," the commission said in a statement.
