"Colonel Gurbanguly Gurbanguliyev is dismissed from the post of commander of the Air Force and Air Defence Forces of Turkmenistan for the shortcomings in his work and non-fulfilment of responsibilities assigned to him".
The relevant decree was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov, who is the the Supreme commander in chief of Turkmenistan's Armed forces. The last recent decree was adopted in accordance with Part 1 of Article 38 of Turkmenistan's Law on "On Military Duty and Military Service".
Turkmenistan has a military doctrine developed given the country's neutral status and defence. The country is not in any of the military-political blocs.
