Two groups of media representatives observed the voting process in Azerbaijani Justice Ministry's Penitentiary Service's prisons.

A group, which also included Trend Agency's employee, conducted monitoring at Prison for Women No.4 and prisons No.1, No.6, No.10 and No.15.

The voting process at the Prison for women No.4 was also observed by Azerbaijani Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova. Some 336 women have voted in the polling station opened at the prison.

Voting process was completed at this prison by 11:00.

Around 350 prisoners have voted in the polls by 11:30 [local time]. The observers informed the media that no violation has bee recorded during the voting process.

As many as 911 prisoners voted at the 24th Nizami Constituency's polling station No.32, which was established in the Prison No.15.

Some 515 prisoners voted during the observers' stay in the polling station, the head of the polling station Mazahir Ahmadov told Trend.

He said no law violation has been recorded in the voting process.

Some 580 of 899 prisoners serving sentence at Prison No.6, where the polling station No.31 of the 24th Nizami Constituency No.1 is located, have participated in the voting process. 

The head of the polling station and observers haven't reveal law violations so far.

Meanwhile, 260 of 511 prisoners serving sentence at the general regime prison N.10 have voted in the 18th Narimanov-Nizami Constituency's polling station No.29.

The head of the polling station Safa Shukurov said that independent observers and the observers of the constituency's candidates observed the voting process.

No fact of interfering in the voting process by the prison has been revealed.

No violation has been recorded in the observation held in all prisons.  

Voters were familiarized with the candidates' platforms through media. The prison's administration provided them with necessary conditions to participate in the elections.

The prisoners are voting by special cards prepared by the Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC).

The voter turnout hit 27 percent in the polling stations established in the prisons of the Azerbaijani Justice Ministry's Penitentiary Service by 12:00 [local time].

There were established 23 polling stations under 14 constituencies.

The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission reported that 690 candidates are running for the parliamentary elections.

Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005

Voting will end at 19:00 [Baku time].
