Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski will participate in the OSCE summit to be held in Astana on Dec.1-2, Polish Charge d'Affaires in Kazakhstan Mieczysław Lapanovski told Trend.

"Poland appreciates and recognizes the efforts of Kazakhstan to establish peace and stability in the world today. This is important when a young country, in addition to solving its internal problems, participates in the international arena as a proven and reliable partner. Poland will support all efforts of the Kazakh authorities in this area and President Komorowski's forthcoming visit to Kazakhstan to participate in the upcoming OSCE summit will serve to this idea," Lapanovski said at the event on the Independence Day of Poland, which is celebrated in Astana today.

He said the Independence Day - Nov.11 is a special day for Poles residing all over the world.

Poland regained its independence in 1918. "We are deeply grateful to the Kazakh people for their support and humanity, shown during the forced emigration of my countrymen. A modern, well-paced Kazakhstan is the second homeland for the descendants of many of them," he said.

He said Kazakh youths are trained and successfully graduate the most prestigious Polish universities thanks to numerous scholarship programs.

"The sides successfully develop economic cooperation. The volume of trade amounted to $1.2 billion in 2009," he said
