OSCE is an important part of U.S. foreign policy, said U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said, speaking at a meeting with students during her visit to Astana.

"OSCE is a priority for me and my country. When my husband Bill Clinton was the President of the United States, the OSCE was a priority international organization for him, and I, as Secretary of State, confirm my OSCE commitments," Clinton said.

The Secretary of State said the visit to Astana confirms that the OSCE is part of U.S. foreign policy. U.S. is committed that the OSCE would be an active and relevant organization, Clinton said.

The Secretary of State said all members should support its principles. "If you want to be a successful country in the 21st century, you must protect human rights," Clinton said.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived in Astana to attend the OSCE summit which will open on Dec. 1.

Clinton heads the U.S. delegation of 200 officials, government representatives, including Assistant Secretary of State, members of Congress and experts - specialists of state agencies.
