Turkmen president invited to Iran to celebrate Novruz

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has invited Turkmen Counterpart Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov to visit the country to participate in the celebration of the international festival of Novruz.
"It is honour me to invite Your Excellency to visit Iran on March 27-28 2011 to participate in the celebration of International Novruz," Ahmadinejad's letter addressed to Berdimuhamedov reads.

The letter was published by the Turkmen media.
"The ancient Nowruz as a symbol of renovation of nature awakes the most wonderful feelings of kindheartedness and unity in people from times immemorial. This bright day embodying the beauty of life was considered a versatile source of hopes and joyful moments of life," the letter reads.
"It is difficult for each of us alone to preserve and revive anew the traditions of the Nowruz holiday that became a spiritual heritage of dozens of great nations," Ahmadinejad said.
Therefore, Ahmadinejad said, the registration of the Nowruz holiday on the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and the recognition of this day as the international holiday by the United Nations give a splendid opportunity to maintain friendly relations all over the world, foster cooperation and strengthen cultural contacts.
