Turkmenistan completed the sample population census, which was held in Ashgabat and some regions, Turkmen media reported on Friday.
The digital population census and housing facilities in Turkmenistan was carried out first among the CIS countries.
This action was conducted with the preparatory activities to improve computer techniques and advanced organizational forms for the forthcoming complete population census and housing facilities, Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported.
The main purpose of the pilot project was to compare the effectiveness and accuracy of the innovative and traditional technologies. It was reported that complete population census is scheduled for December 2012. It will be held within the UN initiatives.
Besides the state language, the vast majority of young people know at least two or three foreign languages, including English, Azerbaijani, Armenian, Kazakh, German, Russian, Turkish, French and other languages.
"More than half of households are connected to the Internet and use the services of the global information network", the article said.
This occurs due to large-scale civil and industrial construction, commissioning of a large number of new community facilities and industrial projects, creating of thousands of jobs in the city of Turkmenbashi and the surrounding area, in particular, it deals with "Avaza" resort.
A decision was made for the forthcoming complete population census and housing facilities of Turkmenistan in 2012 will be implemented in electronic form.
These data will become the database of statistical data for the state to make responsible, mathematically-informed decisions.
