The Tbilisi City Court has chosen a temporary measure of restriction - a bail in the amount of 100,000 lari ($ 1 = 1.67 lari) for Badri Bitsadze, official website of the Chief Prosecutor's Office reported.
"Chief Prosecutor's Office filed a petition on May 31, in consideration of the Article 353, the second part of the Georgian Criminal Code, to set a bail worth 100,000 lari against accused Bitsadze. On June 1, the Court granted the petition of prosecutor's office," the website reported.
Bitsadze is accused of organizing attacks on police by groups created for this purpose, which envisages four to seven years imprisonment.
Badri Bitsadze's location is unknown yet.
Earlier, Bitsadze's spouse, ex-speaker, Nino Burjanadze, said she will not pay a bail for her own husband. She said she is unaware of his location and "does not want to know" where he is.
