The Uzbek Foreign Ministry hosted the second round of Uzbek-Canadian political consultations on July 21, the ministry reported.
The sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, noting the positive trend in the development of the Uzbek-Canadian relations. The delegations exchanged views on the entire agenda of bilateral relations, including regional and international cooperation aspects.
M utual interest was expressed in deepening economic and trade ties, especially in attracting Canada 's modern technology and experience in the Uzbek economy through direct investment by Canadian companies. The sides identified investment projects in energy, engineering, mining, chemical, and petrochemical industries, as well as in agriculture, as is mutually beneficial.
They named promising cooperation in construction and renovation of new and existing hotels and tourist areas in Uzbekistan, as well as the exchange of experiences in management, training, and provision of tourist services.
