According to the results of a survey conducted by the British company Populus Limited among 1,000 respondents, 95 percent of the Azerbaijani population trusts the President Ilham Aliyev. At the same time 96 percent of respondents expressed their satisfaction with the President's activities, said Caspian Information Company CEO Gerald Frost told a news conference on Tuesday.
The survey on all aspects of life was conducted among 1,000 respondents in Baku and in the regions of Azerbaijan from September 10 to 30. The survey included questions regarding economic sphere, the living standards, and government activities.
Frost noted similar surveys conducted in Western countries have never revealed such level of trust.
According to Frost, 79 percent of the respondents assess the overall situation in Azerbaijan as a normal, 70 percent believe that the economy in the country is developing in the right direction.
Some 54 percent of respondents think the living standards are improving, while 49 percent of respondents believe their children will live in even better conditions.
In general, respondents believe that Azerbaijan is a safe, growing, stable, successful and strong state.
