A meeting between members of the Georgia-Azerbaijan Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group and delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Georgian Parliament Fridon Todua was held at the Azerbaijani parliament.

"Relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are not just relations between neighboring and friendly countries, these are relations of strategic partnership at the highest level," the Friendship Group head, MP Ganira Pashayeva said.

She said MPs should make efforts to further develop the relations between the two countries.

Both countries' people have always been together, Mr Todua said.

"There has never been any problem between Azerbaijani and Georgian people. There were some minor issues that were resolved by both countries' people quite peacefully," he said.

The delegation led by Todua visited the grave of Azerbaijan's national leader Heydar Aliyev and Alley of Martyrs.

Todua also stressed efficient meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, which discussed issues of mutual interest.
