President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today viewed the 1st Caspian International Aqua Technologies Exhibition and Forum “CATEF-2013”, Azertag reported.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today viewed the 1st Caspian International Aqua Technologies Exhibition and Forum "CATEF-2013", Azertag reported.

Chairman of Azersu company Gorkhmaz Huseynov informed the Head of State that CATEF 2013 is the only event in the Caspian region dedicated to showcasing achievements in water technology. It is organised on the initiative of and supported by Azersu. The organisational partner is Iteca Caspian LLC.

The water supply and sewerage systems for all cities and towns, as well as for hundreds of villages and other residential areas have been established or refurbished, state-of-the-art water intake and water treatment plants have been built, and main pipelines and water distribution networks have been laid in the recent years.

CATEF is a three-day opportunity to make business contacts, share experience and sign long-term contracts in water supply and water management. The event combines presentation of advanced technology with discussion of current industry issues.

Some 79 companies from 23 countries will offer their services in the following areas: water supply, wastewater and storm water, micro tunneling, measuring and control technologies for analysis of water, pumps, pumping systems, protection of drinking water sources, construction machinery and equipment, drilling rigs, information and communication technology, geothermal technology, seawater desalination technology and other products, technologies and services.

Over 50% of participants are foreign companies, including Awas (Germany), DOW (USA), Duktus (Austria), Ekoton (Russia), Grundfos (Denmark), Herrenknecht AG (Germany), Hyundai (South Korea), Hungarian Water Cluster (Hungary), Krohne (Germany), Nippon Koei (Japan), Nordic Water-EMO (Switzerland), PWT (Germany), Samsun Makina (Turkish), Suez Environment (France), Xylem (Sweden) and others. Local stakeholders are companies Akkord Azerbaijan, Sumgait Technology Park and others.

The President also viewed the pavilions of different countries.
