Turkish fighter jets conduct reconnaissance flights along Syrian border

Turkish F-16 fighter jets conducted reconnaissance flights along the Turkish-Syrian border, Sabah newspaper reported today, referring to a report from the Turkish Armed Forces.

The Armed Forces of Turkey reported that fighters and unmanned aerial vehicles have carried out several reconnaissance flights during the past 24 hours. These flights are being conducted in light of recent fighting between extremist organizations on the Turkish-Syrian border.

Fierce fighting broke out on the Turkish-Syrian border between the Syrian branch of PKK terrorist organization and "Dzhabhat Al Nusra" militants on Wednesday.

Clashes between government forces and the armed opposition have been continuing in Syria for over two years. According to UN statistics, the total number of conflict deaths exceeds 100,000. Syrian authorities say that the militants are very well-armed.
