The 'International Diaspora Center' (IDC) held a rally on Friday in front of the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan, during which the head of the organization, Ismayil Agayev made a statement.
According to him, Russian law enforcement authorities violated the human rights of Orkhan Zeynalov, who is being suspected of committing a crime in Russia.
The statement said that the harsh actions of the employees of the Interior Ministry of Russia - a country, well-informed on human rights, "have greatly hurt us".
The document underlines that violence against Azerbaijanis living in Russia, should immediately stop.
"We urge our compatriots living in different countries of the world to respect their own national identity, to comply with the laws of the countries in which they live, and not to succumb to provocations," the statement said.
During the protest, IDC representatives voiced slogans such as: 'Let us protect Azerbaijani-Russian relations!' and 'Azerbaijanis consider Russia their second homeland!'.
