BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 19. Azerbaijan's Aghdam District Prosecutor Office is investigating the fact of finding a mass grave in the district's liberated Sarijali village at nearly 09:00 (GMT +4) on June 19, the Prosecutor General's Office told Trend.
During mine-clearing operations in the village, bone fragments resembling human remains were found.
Previously, as a result of the relevant search activities, the mass graves were also found in Shusha city, the villages of Dashalty (Shusha district), Edilli (Khojavand district), Sirkhavand (Aghdam district), as well as Farrukh village (Khojaly district) and other areas.
Sarijali village was liberated from Armenian occupation in the 2020 Second Karabakh War.
Following the liberation of its lands, Azerbaijan from Nov. 2020 started carrying out operations on clearing its lands of mines, booby traps, and various weapons left behind by the Armenian troops.
